I am trained in CBT and psychodynamic therapies. I work with individuals in a private practice setting who struggle with depression, anxiety, chronic illness, phase of life challenges and more.
I did the majority of my training at UCSF in the oncology and neurology departments. Working directly with physicians, neuropsychologist, nurses, physical therapist, and case managers, I was able to gain experience in various aspects of illness and recovery. Since leaving UCSF, I have been in private practice.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 12 years of experience helping clients work through and heal from with a wide variety of issues including anxiety, depression, PTSD, chronic illness, substance use, harm reduction, women’s health, sexual & reproductive health, the LGBTQIA+ community and gender-affirming care. During my many years in community mental health and medical settings, I gained specific expertise in trauma work, sexual and gender identity, and the use of a social justice framework.
I work closely with clients to create a collaborative, patient-lead treatment plan. As a provider I believe that cultivating a positive relationship is central to providing good clinical care. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and use a strengths-based approach of acceptance and empathy as I work together with my clients to understand how influences such as life stage, level of social support, and physical health impact overall wellbeing.

I specialize in working with adults facing medical diagnosis, chronic illness, and life changes. From time spent in countless exam rooms and hospital bedsides, I have an understanding of common experiences faced while navigating medical conditions. In our work together, you can spend less time explaining your condition and more time on what’s most important.
I believe that health issues and life transitions are complex and cause ripple effects, leading to widespread changes from our closest relationships to how we envision our future. I work with you to make sense of your experience, learn ways to manage uncertainty and overwhelm, and ultimately create a life that feels meaningful to you.

I understand that Chronic Illnesses can cause severe stress, relationship issues, and financial burden on clients. I have seen a lot of clients with Chronic Illness also experience behavioral health challenges such as depression and anxiety. Working in the medical field, a lot of clients have told me, "No one understands what I am going through."
You might be feeling discouraged, lonely, and sad having all the health-related issues. Providing a secure and trusting environment is very important to me to build a good clinical relationship. I have worked with more than 5,000 clients in the past. A lot of my clients have told me that they felt "heard" for the first time.
